Lt. Governor Candidate
Rob Krop for Lt. Governor
Rob Krop is a lifelong Maryland resident from Frederick County, a devoted husband to his wife Steph of 18 years, and a proud father of four. He is a graduate of Liberty University, where he earned a degree in Biblical Studies, and he is an active member of First Baptist Church of Green Valley. Faith, family, and personal responsibility are central to how Rob lives and leads.
With over 20 years in the real estate industry, Rob runs one of the top-performing real estate teams in the DMV, the Krop Team. He is also the owner of Key City Property Management, helping Maryland families and investors responsibly manage housing and protect long-term wealth. In addition, Rob is the founder and owner of The Machine Gun Nest, Frederick’s premier indoor shooting range.
Through The Machine Gun Nest, Rob is committed to spreading the mission of the Second Amendment and promoting responsible firearm ownership. The company’s mission statement says it best: “Changing the way people think about guns, one experience at a time.” Education, safety, and respect for constitutional rights are at the core of everything the business does.
Over the last three years, Rob experienced firsthand what happens when government agencies abuse their power. He was falsely indicted by the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, and he fought back. Rob defeated the government twice, finally winning outright at trial before a jury of his peers in the state of Maryland. He was found not guilty on all counts.
That experience permanently shaped Rob’s resolve. He understands the fight required to take on government overreach and corruption, and he is determined to ensure that no Marylander ever has to endure what he and his family went through. Government agencies must never be allowed to weaponize their authority against innocent citizens.
As a lifelong real estate professional, Rob also understands how critical homeownership is for everyday Marylanders. Owning a home is one of the most important paths to generational wealth, yet that opportunity is being eroded by rising costs, excessive taxation, unlawful increases in property assessments, and the taxation of inflated, unrealized gains. Too many families are being priced out of the communities they helped build.
Rob has also seen the damage caused by poorly planned government projects, including the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project running through Frederick and Carroll Counties, as well as the unchecked expansion of data centers that are driving residents out and destroying property values. These decisions are made without meaningful local input, and Maryland families pay the price.
Rob Krop is running to make Maryland more affordable, stop government corruption, protect property rights, and defend individual liberty so government works for the people again, not against them.
